Honorable Joseph (Jody) Willoughby
Jody Willoughby was appointed as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Southside on March 26th, 2012. He served as Public Defender for the City from 2010 until receiving the judgeship.
Judge Willoughby received a B.S. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2003. In 2006 he received his J.D. from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. Judge Willoughby was admitted in 2006 to the Alabama State Bar and in 2008 to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Alabama.
He is a member of the Etowah County Bar Association, Etowah County Inns of Court, Alabama State Bar, Alabama Association for Justice, and the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Judge Willoughby is a partner in the law firm of Day & Willoughby. He resides in Southside with his wife, Kristen.
