DIRECT MEETING NOTIFICATION, Southside Zoning Board of Adjustments

In compliance with Resolution No. 0-035-2005 of the City of Southside, Alabama

and the Alabama Open Meetings Act you are hereby notified

the Southside Zoning Board of Adjustments will hold a special called meeting on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 6:00  p.m. in the council chambers located at the Southside City Hall, 2255 Highway 77,

The Southside Zoning Board of Adjustments will hold a special called Public Hearing on

Monday, June 07, 2021at 6:00 p.m. at the Southside City Hall, 2255 Southside, Alabama35907.


The Public Hearing will be in regards to an application for a zoning variance request made by property owner Carole G. Edwards. The variance location is 3528 Smith Road, Southside, Alabama 35907. The property is zoned R-1, Single Family Residential


The applicant wishes to construct a single family home on approximately a 1 acre lot. The construction plans for the home she desires to build has a single-car open carport.


The applicant is requesting a variance so as she can build a carport on her new home in lieu of  building an attached two car garage as the Zoning Ordinance requires.


The current Zoning Ordinance requires all homes built be a minimum of 1400 square feet heating and cooled area along with an attached two car garage.


All persons interested in the above variance are urged to attend the public hearing which is held to provide an opportunity for public comments. As required this notice has been posted in three public places within the city limits of the City of Southside and at the Southside city hall.
